I am a freelance writer, editor, and marketer born, raised, and based in Metro Manila, Philippines.
As a journalist and copywriter, I cover the following topics:
- Technology (gadgets, trends, and new developments)
- Business (startups and entrepreneur/company profiles)
- Lifestyle (food, drink, leisure, entertainment, health)
- Dating, sex, and sexual health
- Creative writing, books, traditional book publishing, and self-publishing.
My articles have been published in HWM Philippines, Entrepreneur Philippines, FHM Philippines, 2nd Opinion, Rappler, Philippines Graphic, Impact Magazine, and Tech in Asia, among other media outfits. Assignments range from half-pagers to longform pieces, blurbs to cover stories, straight journalism to advertorials.
I am also a book editor with extensive experience in four types of editorial work: proofreading, copy editing, line editing, and developmental editing. I edit books written in English and Tagalog, and typically accept fiction and nonfiction manuscripts.
Sometimes, I take on content marketing work, too. I can help you brainstorm, plan, research, write, edit, and publish in-depth and informative content for your own business, or for your clients. My past clients include full-service PR and boutique digital marketing agencies, in-house events companies, tech manufacturers, and online retail and alternative-financing firms.
For me, writing and editing go beyond work hours as well. I am an MFA-Creative Writing candidate at De La Salle University focusing on creative nonfiction, and currently drafting my book-length manuscript – an intensive project that I hope to finish in 2024. I was also a writing fellow (for creative nonfiction in English) at the 2017 UST National Writers’ Workshop.
In between assignments and continuing personal projects like The Reading Spree and Semi-Online, I’m either out seeing my loved ones in real (offline) life; or at home, binge-watching fantasy/sci-fi/psychological horror shows and movies. I used to travel a lot too, which I hope to resume post-pandemic.
